Chase Creek Smokehouse has fed Lake County, Michigan for over 20 years, serving around 40,000 customers annually. Linda Ringler runs the market alongside her husband Pat, who opened the place in 1999. Weekends take care of themselves, with a patio, live music, and cornhole boards to keep people entertained while they wait for food. The harder problem is the middle of the week, and the answer has been a standing calendar of events that gives people a reason to come out on a night they otherwise would not.
Wednesday is Trivia Night, every week. Thursday is Thirsty Thursdays, where local talent plays and the most popular menu items go on promotion. Linda used a promoter to scout small bands in the area, and now has a roster of musicians who come back regularly, which she says makes organising far easier than booking fresh acts every week. The promotion runs a week or a couple of days ahead across Facebook and Instagram. In the restaurant itself she puts up posters at 24 by 36 inches, and resizes the same design for the TV screens inside so people waiting for a table are already reading about next Wednesday.
You can set a weekly night the same way. Build the poster from bar and pub templates, keep one design you re-date each week rather than starting over, and put it on the screens with digital signage templates. Set the reminders out in advance in the Content Planner so the posts go up without you thinking about it on a service night.
